For the one who can't step away

Maybe you were handed a box after fifteen years. Maybe you're still cashing the check and quietly losing your mind. Maybe you've had an idea sketched on napkins for three years. Or you're already out on your own, working harder than you ever did for somebody else, and somehow going backward.

If you're the only one who can do the work, you don't own a business. You own a job with extra steps.

This book is about the oldest system there is for getting good at something and handing it on: Learn, Master, Teach. It's how the guilds turned apprentices into masters, and it's how surgeons are still trained. Most organizations have quietly stopped doing it.

It isn't management theory. It's forty years of doing it wrong, doing it right, and watching good companies come apart because nobody took notes.

About Norm

Jack of all trades. Master of most.

Norm Johnson-Korbuly has been laid off, bought out, fired for being too expensive, and shown the door. He has also built companies and sold the parts. He was selling golf balls back to the golfers who lost them when he was twelve.

He's a business owner, an entrepreneur, an electrical designer by trade, and a speaker for Twin Cities business groups. Four decades in, he finally wrote down what all of it taught him.

You have something worth teaching.

The only question is whether you're going to make them figure it out the hard way.
